Nano Banana Image to Video
Animate Nano Banana images, your own photos, or illustrations with the AI video generator on Gemini Nano Banana. Choose a video model and describe the subject action and camera movement. Use Text to Video to create a scene from a written idea without a starting image.
From a Still Image to a Moving Scene
Your image establishes the subject, composition, and visual style. Use the video prompt to explain what happens next: a person turns, fabric catches the breeze, or the camera moves closer to a product. Start with one clear action and build the shot around it.
Animate Your ImageCreate Videos from Images or Text
Match the starting material and video settings to the shot you want to make.
Starting Material
Image or text
Choose what defines the scene
Choose Image to Video to animate a photo or Nano Banana image. Choose Text to Video to build a new scene from a written description. Both modes let you describe the action and camera movement.
- Image: animate a visual
- Text: invent a scene
- References: check supported inputs
Video Model
Capabilities and controls
Match the model to the shot
For dialogue, choose generated audio. For a planned ending, look for end-frame input. Check which of these controls the selected Veo, Kling, or Seedance model provides.
- Starting and end-frame inputs
- Generated audio options
- Duration and output settings
Subject Action
What happens on screen
Keep the movement clear
Choose the action before setting the duration. A glance or a product turn fits a single shot; several events may need separate clips.
- Name the action
- Set the pace
- Limit secondary events
Camera Movement
How the viewer sees it
Separate camera and subject motion
Decide whether the camera stays still or moves. Describe its direction separately from the subject’s action.
- Fixed or moving camera
- Direction of travel
- Subject framing
Output Format
Where the clip will be used
Frame the action for its destination
Choose a frame that leaves space for the action. Use the available duration and resolution options for your selected model.
- Match the placement
- Allow time for the action
- Review model settings
Add Sound to Your Scene
Choose a video model that supports generated audio when your scene needs dialogue, sound effects, or ambience. Describe the speaker and words, or the sounds that belong in the setting. Audio controls and reference uploads vary by model. For a separate narration track, use the voiceover tool linked below.
Put Your Images in Motion
Turn a finished visual into a short scene with a clear subject, action, and purpose.
Social Video Openers
Give the opening a focal point
Build a vertical clip around one visible action. Keep the subject clear of edges where captions and platform controls may appear.
Product Reveal Clips
Start with the product in focus
Animate a product photo with a reveal or gentle camera move. Check packaging, lettering, and shape throughout the result.
Animated Portraits
Build around a small gesture
Add a glance, a head turn, or movement in hair and clothing. Start with a clear face and a simple gesture.
Scene and Camera Studies
Explore a shot before expanding it
Use a location image or written scene to explore framing. Compare a fixed view with a slow approach or wider camera move.
Moving Illustrations
Add movement to the atmosphere
Bring clouds, foliage, or fabric into motion around an illustrated subject. Specify which elements move and which stay still.
Character Story Moments
Give the character one action
Give character art a short story beat, such as reaching for an object. Review the face, costume, and props during the action.
How to Turn an Image into a Video
Start with a Nano Banana image, a photo, or an illustration, then plan the movement.
Upload or Describe
Choose Image to Video and upload the image you want to animate. If you have no starting image, switch to Text to Video and describe the scene.
Direct the Shot
Choose a video model and describe the action and camera movement. Set the available aspect ratio, duration, and output options in the generator.
Generate and Review
Watch the whole clip, including the ending and any sound. Download a result you like, or adjust the motion brief and generate another version.
Direct the Motion, Not Just the Look
An image-to-video prompt works best when it explains how the scene changes over time.
Give the Subject One Clear Action
Focus the motion
Describe the action the viewer should notice first. Add secondary movement only when it supports that action.
Describe the Camera Separately
Control the viewpoint
A moving subject can have a fixed camera. Describe the camera path separately so the two movements are distinct.
Leave Room for Movement
Use the starting composition
Choose an image with space in the direction of travel. Prepare a wider starting image when a tight crop restricts the action.
Match the Action to the Clip Length
Plan a complete moment
Give the action a beginning and ending. Use fewer events for a short clip; plan separate shots for a longer sequence.
Review the Shot Before Trying Again
- • Appearance - Check faces, product details, and any lettering throughout the clip.
- • Movement - Identify whether the subject action or camera path needs revision.
- • Sound - Listen for the intended words, effects, and timing when audio is included.
- • Next attempt - Change the relevant instruction while keeping useful inputs and settings.
